The mission of the Children with Diabetes Research Foundation is to fund human clinical trials leading to a cure and prevention of Type 1 diabetes. We are the venture capitalists of diabetes research, getting new, clinically relevant, innovative research off the ground.
The Children With Diabetes Research Foundation was founded by a group of parents of children with Type 1 diabetes who want a cure for people with Type 1 diabetes and a method of preventing diagnosis in the next generation. Our executive board consists of people with Type 1 diabetes and parents of children with diabetes. We are 100% volunteer run, so all money donated by our generous donors can go directly to research. When making grants to investigators, we insist that the hospital or sponsoring institution allows for 100% of the grant to go toward research, thus further stretching donations and maximizing the effectiveness of the donation. Our team has a vast background in research, science and diabetes. We are committed to finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes through funding the very most promising research.
